Mai + Co // Baldwin Beach, Maui

I think what I love most about the photographs of Mai and her parents are the lessons that are carried within each image. Mai’s curiosity reminds me to look at every angle of life with interest and openness. She seems to have that innate belief that every tiny detail of life is magical and enchanting. Mai embodies that childlike wonder many seem to lose as they grow up and shows us that not only is it important to celebrate the little things, but also, that it’s the little things that often matter the most.After photographing Faith and Phuc a few years ago on their wedding day, it was so amazing to work with them again now that they have brought little Mai into the world. They are such a loving, warm, and happy family. It was an amazing experience getting to watch Mai study the sand and squeal as the ebb and flow of the waves danced on her tiny toes.
