Shay & AJ's rockin' Maui Wedding

Shay and AJ are one of those couples that obviously just belong together. Anyone in the same room as these two will immediately notice how they look at each other so lovingly. These two are so fun, they really know how to have a good time!One of the things that really struck me was how Shay & AJ's families came together to create this spectacular wedding celebration. With friends & family, there was hardly a need to hire an outside vendor. She had a makeup artist, a stylist, an event coordinator (a sweet girl who could organize a wedding of 1,000 without breaking a sweat) and a Reverend who flew in from Seattle to marry the two. They also incorporated a lot of elements from their Filipino culture: Her aunt mailed a large box of colorful fans from the Philippines to help keep the guests cool during the ceremony. There was also a tradition folk-dance called Tinikling which was performed by not only the entertainers but also by Shay, AJ and their entire bridal party. It involves with a pair of dancers hopping between two bamboo poles held just above the ground and struck together in time to music. The speeches from the bridal party and parents were tearjerkers as well, I am so glad I now carry Kleenex with me!Towards the end of the evening, a group of their guests did a Flash Mob. Yes, they had actually choreographed a routine and rehearsed it for weeks to surprise Shay and AJ at their wedding reception. And wow, could they dance!
