Married in Maui: Tricia + Micah
Tricia was raised here on Maui, and her family owns the famous T. Komodo Bakery in Makawao. Most mornings you can see a line of people waiting for their fresh warm pastries and just the faintest smell from that bakery makes me want to float right on over for a cream puff. Tricia was visiting her cousin in Las Vegas when she met Micah. Micah is from Kauai and is going to school in Las Vegas. The first time he saw Tricia at a party, he was instantly attracted to her. And how could he not be? Tricia is such a beautiful girl!Every single detail of this wedding was thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed. The wedding ceremony was held at Bev Gannon's house in Upcountry Maui. Anny Heid made the place look exquisite with all the florals, using a colorful selection of orchids, roses and real cherry blossoms. Rylan, the ring bearer, didn't walk down the aisle ~ he rode his toy tractor. There was the faintest drizzle of rain during the ceremony, hardly noticeable, and the dark stormy clouds were kept at bay. Reverend Pia delivered a heartfelt ceremony including not only the traditional Hawaiian lei exchange, but also had a sake exchange, called "San-san-kudo". This is a Japanese ceremony consisting of a three-times-three exchange of nuptial cups to symbolize the union.During the ceremony they had a Banzai toast, which represents long life and happiness. They also did something rather different ~ If a glass is rung for a kiss, the couple drew a name from a basket of another couple who had to kiss. Then Micah and Tricia had to imitate their kissing style which was brought a great element of humor to the reception. The food was delicious, and the cake and masaladas were out of this world. I have never laughed and cried so much at a wedding before.Thank you for allowing me to document your big day and being so warm and welcoming, treating me as a guest.Congratulations Tricia and Micah on an extraordinary wedding!Ceremony + Reception Venue: Bev Gannon's private estateFlorals: Anny Heid FlowersOfficiant: Reverend Pia AluliMusicians: Reggie & TannerCatering: Celebrations Catering by Bev GannonA big thank you to Sandra Gamboa and Jes Akin for assisting me on this wedding!
